Since its inception, UUPA's purpose has been to address the spiritual, 
educational, and support needs of poly UUs desiring to come out of the closet, of 
non-poly UUs suddenly faced with this unfamiliar family structure in their 
congregations, and of non-UU polys in desperate need of a more welcoming religious 
environment.  

The work of UUPA relates to promoting dialog among Unitarian Universalists 
about how UU congregations can minister to polyamorous families already in their 
midst, and how UUs with vastly varying opinions on polyamory can discuss this 
extremely controversial issue with candor, integrity, and respect. 

UUPA is an independent organization, not affiliated with the Unitarian 
Universalist Association.
