The first UU Principle is to affirm the inherent worth and dignity of every
person, including Stanley Kurtz. I am as tempted as anyone else to use
name-calling when I have been attacked or offended. But name-calling does not affirm
anyone's dignity, especially that of the person DOING the name-calling. It
does nothing to correct misinformation or improve UUPA's image.

1. I don't think anyone should respond as even a member, let alone representative of UUPA.

2. Stanley Kurtz' dignity has been besmirched by his own actions, which include lying, exploiting ignorance and intolerance for political and financial ends, and disregarding our rights and dignity. Of course I have compassion for him, just as I do for child molesters and serial killers. I assume no child comes into the world intending to harm others, but when one ends up a vicious sociopath, I feel we need to take reasonable steps to protect ourselves.

3. There is no civil discourse with Stanley Kurtz and his Bushtian ilk. They don't care if polyamory, gay marriage, the arts, stem cell research, etc is good for the public or bad. All they care about is using these wedge issues to push the buttons of their constituents.
