I question, though, whether those FLDS wives have truly informed freedom of  
choice, when they are raised to accept those roles in closed communities  
isolated from the mainstream.  But there's one other distinction to be  aware of...
 
I've been told that healthy BDSM play has a safe word; I suspect FLDS wives  
have no such safe word.  I've also been told that the sub in a healthy D/s  
can choose to opt out at any time.  FLDS wives have a much harder time  opting 
out after their "I do's" when they live in a closed community isolated  from 
the mainstream.
