Re: [UUPoly-L] What percentage of the poly community is UU?

I vote purple, personally. :) But that's just me. Red is second choice.
:) Blue is pretty, too....ooooh, all the pretty colors.

I remember someone who gave a prepared speech on the topic using a rainbow flag and a videotape as a visual aid.

It was fairly simple: the video was recorded bites of
various community spokespeople denouncing or excluding some
subpart of the community. There'd be someone talking about
how in order to "fit in" to society we needed mainstream,
long-term monogamous couples, not people who did casual sex
or swinging. And he'd rip a colored stripe off the flag,
leaving the white background behind. Then there'd be a clip
of someone talking about how BDSM was too scary for most
folks and we shouldn't be emphasizing the people in D/S type
relationships, and he'd rip another stripe off the flag.
And then there was a clip of someone talking about how
bisexuals undermine the gay rights movement because their
ability to "choose" between gay and straight sexuality plays
into the "it's an immoral choice" propaganda by enemies of
gays, and he'd rip another stripe off the flag.... et cetera
...

And when the video clips were all done, there were no
stripes on the flag at all, and all a white flag says is "we
surrender."

I dunno which color it is, but in my universe poly is
definitely one of the stripes on that rainbow flag....
