Re: [UUPoly-L] UUPoly-L Digest, Vol 27, Issue 8
probably because "hello friends" is a very common spam subject line, and it
was coming from a yahoo account. Free web-based email providers have
"customer"-created accounts that make up a large percentage of spam email
addresses.
Out of sheer curiosity, I searched my spam folder (yay google-mail!) to see
how many of the roughly 2000 spam messages from the last 30 days have the
subject "hello friends." It's only 57, but even so that's still almost 2 per
day for the last month.
Subject lines which are more descriptive to the message enclosed are less
likely to be marked as SPAM.
