Re: [UUPoly-L] Poly Demographics

Pat, research as to demographics is fairly limited and we certainly need more current demographic information than is generally available. That said, I recommend a review of The National Coalition For Sexual Freedom's Poly soundbites, which is really much meatier than soundbites and really more of a general FAQ which includes some useful demographic info, which you will find at

Hope this helps, and good luck!

I am wondering if anyone has yet tried doing any kind
of scientific research into polys, especially into the
demographics of polys (race, religion, age, gender,
gender preferences, etc.). I'm putting together a
presentation for our church's forum for next April
(it's the first month with an open fifth Sunday), and
I think it would help to have some of that data
available. I know that I'm going to get asked about
that sort of thing, in one form or another. For
instance, a few months back, while trying to explain
poly to my current second, she asked me, 'Isn't it
just a male fantasy?' So, having some demographics
other then my personal, and limited, experience with
other polys would certainly help.

Thanks,
