[UUPoly-L] Easy example of degrading and dehumanizing women

Hi. Thank you for the quick reply. I respectfully disagree with some of your opinions but appreciate the comments and we definitely have some middle ground and areas of agreement.
 
The best example I can provide of the dominant culture (print, television, movies) directly changing the views of women, and in this case specifically Black women, is Motown.
 
If you listen to Smokey Robinson, Gladys Knight and the Pips, The Miracles, Stevie Wonder, Platters, Fifth Dimension, Sly and the Family Stone and other grammy award winning Black artists from the 50's and 60's, you will find women exhalted, respected, idolized, worshipped and treated like royalty. The Black family (primary and extended) were almost fully intact and children out wedlock was the exception.
 
Fast forward to today with gansta rap where the women, especially African-American, are dressed like hoochies, degraded, called bitches and hos, slapped, screwed and left pregnant and without a dad or poly family and seen totally as dehumanized objects solely for the pleasure of men. 
 
Of course who buys the most gansta rap music, watches the videos and bases their opinion of Black Women on this medium? Suburban White boys. 
 
When magazines, music and media (Cosmo, Glamour, Penthouse, Hustler) all converge to promote one dominant form of feminine standards, then society follows and that becomes the normal paradigm.  Hence, today's degrading of the female from respected and revered to subjugated and sexualized and subservient.
