This is an old debate that was also brought forward in Washington DC.  There
was a standing committee that was studying pornography.  It stared research
in the Johnson administration and finished in the Nixon administration.
When I was growing up I thought this was the dirtiest book around.  Due to
our government being open what ever they studied and considered was part of
their record.  *L it had every form of pornography one could imagine at that
time......  OK now this is where it begins to get weird.....  The majority
opinion of the committee said Porno did nothing much to those that enjoyed
it....  but the Minority opinion thought it was immoral and should be
banned.... this was leaked out and the Pres (Nixon) did his best to soften
the report by saying it was commissioned by liberal democrats.....   OK boys
and girls...   we are in the bonus round of this weird story.... Can you
remember who the head of the committee was?  BTW he also wrote the minority
opinion saying porno was very bad (say it like Dustin Hoffman in Rain man...
porno is very bad)  you are doing good.    Ok the head of the committee and
the man standing up for our moral standards was Charles Keating...  still
not ringing any bells...  He was the gentleman that started the Savings and
Loan fiasco that lead to most of them collapsing.
