Re: [UUPoly-L] On Poly, Kink, and Unitarianism
This just reminded me of an adult conversation that I had to be abruptly
removed from (as I was around 6 or 7) when I made the sudden realization
that tying people up and having multiple partners wasn't "normal" UU
activity (and started asking questions that made people gasp).
The thing that made this funnier was my lack of experience with either. I
did not grow up in an openly poly or "kinky" household, and while I have my
"grown-up, looking back" suspicions, there was nothing overt to have ever
made me think that was common human behavior besides my own inner wiring.
Well, count me in all three categories... 4 if you count also identifying as
pagan, and 5/6 if you count my affiliation for renfaires and sci-fi
conventions. The number of people who overlap all or most of those
subcultures is really astounding.
