That's a common misconception. An organism can be alive, but unable 
or unwilling to reproduce, which takes it out of the gene pool. IMHO, 
fucking mannequins takes one out of the gene pool. (Assuming he isn't 
also trying to inseminate humans, which it sounds like he won't have 
the opportunity to do for a while.)
