[UUPoly-L] Seeking poly quad and others to interview for book on polyamory

Hi everyone! Hope you are all having a good summer.

I sent a post like this to the list but I think it may be hung up in the ether since it was also sent to quite a number of other lists.

I recall a while back someone in a committed quad posting here. I'm hoping that person will get in touch with me regarding this interview request (and anyone else interested - see below for more on what I am looking for.)

I am assisting Tristan Taormino, a sex columnist for the Village Voice, author, event organizer (Dark Odyssey) in finding polyfolk to interview for her book on polyamory entitled "Opening Up". She is quite laudably addressing the subject broadly by seeking a very diverse group of interviewees. She is specifically seeking at this point all of the following:

  -MtoF transperson and partner
-Crossdresser and partner
-People of color
-People with kids
-People who live in the Midwest
-Gay men (I know it sounds crazy, but I haven't gotten any of the ones I
know to respond back)
-people living in a committed quad
-people in a relationship where one partner is monogamous and the other
partner is non-monogamous or polyamorous

See below my signature for more information. Note Tristan is quite happy to assign you pseudonyms to protect privacy.

Tristan's interview method is to first ask you to complete and submit an e-mail interview, which she will then follow up with a telephone interview. I have the interview questionnaire and would be happy to share it with you if you're open to doing this.

If you all are willing to participate (or you know someones else who might be), you would be doing the poly world a great service by letting me know. I'll be happy to talk to you by phone myself about it, and I have contact info for Tristan should you wish to talk to her about it. You can write to me offlist at imapolygirl@yahoo.com Also for more info about Tristan, you can visit her website at http://www.puckerup.com

  Thanks for considering!

  Best,
  Anita Wagner

I am working on a new book called OPENING UP: CREATING AND SUSTAINING OPEN
RELATIONSHIPS. It is a how-to book for people interested in relationship
possibilities beyond monogamy. The book will dispel some of the myths about
non-monogamy and polyamory and outline several different styles of open
relationships. It will help readers decide if non-monogamy and polyamory is
right for them, how to develop healthy, positive open relationships, and how
to transform a monogamous relationship into a non-monogamous one. For those
already exploring various forms of non-monogamy, it will offer practical,
creative strategies for making an open relationship work, including tips on
communication, negotiation, jealousy, boundary setting, and conflict
resolution. Plus, Opening Up will delve into issues that are specific to
these non-traditional relationships, including sexuality, community, raising
children, and legal considerations.

Throughout the book, I include examples of real-life people in
non-monogamous, polyamorous, swinger and open relationships. I would love
the opportunity to interview you for the book and profile you.

You can use a fake name and I will disguise your identity to protect your
privacy.

If you are interested in being interviewed for my book, we'll start with an
email interview, then follow it up with a phone call that will last no more
than an hour.

If you're game, email and let me know. I will send you the email interview.
After you send back your responses, then we'll schedule the phone call.

If you know anyone else who may be interested in participating, please feel
free to forward this announcement and my email to them.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Tristan Taormino
