[UUPoly-L] more on the IA blog
Satureday, I was sitting here on the porch at Quillen at Ferry Beach
when a familiar figure towing a rolling duffle came up the back
steps. Gini Courter leaned over and gave me a hug and a kiss on the
cheek. After she settled herself in one of the Adirondack chairs, I
asked her if she was aware of a blogger claiming to be a UU minister
serving a congregation in MA who was accusing the leadership of
nefarious activities. She wasn't. So I summarized the
accusation: that the recent action limiting IA's was targeted at
UUPA. The ensuing narrative she gave me describing the evolution of
the IA decision, involving a number of "town meetings" and concern
about the quality of programming at GA, sounded completely
credible and coherent. I am confident that there is NO truth to the
allegation in the blog. Moreover, I find it hard to believe that her
affectionate greeting was a mask for any institutional hostility.
