Re: [UUPoly-L] Mass. minister lays down the gauntlet
Wait. What if everybody took the initiative to define their relationships
on their own terms, with input from all people involved, with negotiation
and compromise expected as part of the deal? What if everybody felt
comfortable to take the path that led to the best possible outcome for
themselves and their partner(s) (if any), as they saw it? What if everybody
was free to make their own choices about loving, consensual relationships?
I don't know what that minister's on about, but I'm in favor of everybody
doing just exactly that. That doesn't necessarily mean that everybody would
have polyamorous relationships, by any stretch of the imagination. It
doesn't work for everybody, and it's not appealing to everybody. But I see
no reason why everybody ought not to have the option to go that way if
they're so inclined (and the corresponding responsibilities).
So yeah. What if everybody did that? We'd all have to think and
communicate clearly about our love lives. In the immortal words of the
Internet: OH NOES!
