[UUPoly-L] [RE] UU ministers, open marriages and poly commitment ceremonies

Is starting a discussion of whether UU ministers might conduct non-legally
binding commitment ceremonies for more than two, just as surely many do
for same-sex couples, too big a bite to bite off for UUPA at this point?

Keep in mind that there is also the congregation's awareness and openness
to consider. A minister might agree to perform the ceremony, and have the
right to do so, but it does not necessarily follow that the congregation's
leadership would be equally open to having that ceremony performed in
   their sanctuary.

I think our first priority is to raise awareness within our respective
congregations, both about what poly is really about, and what our pastoral
and spiritual needs are. This means not only reaching out to our
ministers, but to our lay leaders as well.

To the UUPA Board -- do we have educational materials addressed
specifically to UU ministers, DREs and lay leaders which UUPA members and
friends could use for engaging people in this process?
