I think anyone making such an argument should be required to come up with
specific examples of why they consider something "inevitable".
Often the "something" is not inevitable at all. They've simply assumed it
is, without thinking much about it.
That's my impression, anyway...
Many of the same "arguments" would seem to apply to extended
families....(which people don't seem to be opposed to at all!)
