Re: [UUPoly-L] Identity Polytics.

You know, I'm with Earth Father here - "polyamorist" is a term that you've
apparently just coined, apparently to mean members of the poly movement.

A Web search quickly reveals I did not coin the term polyamorist. A handful of the many examples that precede my usage include:

The "Polyamorist Political Action Committee" at http://www.liberated.net/polyamoristpac/ .

The Polyamory Society uses the term polyamorist at http://www.polyamorysociety.org/ .

There's an author who wants to interview people for a book on "polyamorist" women at http://www.freewebs.com/polylapachet/ .

There's a Yahoo group for polyamorists in the Chico, CA area that calls themselves "Chico Polyamorist's Fellowship" at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ChicoPoly/?tab=s .

Individual polyamorous persons use the term "polyamorist" to describe themselves. Besides some on this list see http://joyfulgrl.diaryland.com/ .

Even opponents of polyamory also use the term. Some Christian--and I use the term Christian loosely--opponents of polyamory talk about the emergence of a "polyamorist" movement dedicated to "polyamorist rights" at http://headlines.agapepress.org/archive/1/92006e.asp .

It's not my term. I picked it up elsewhere.
