I'm a bit bemused by this discussion, largely because I've only seen the
issue raised once prior to this by someone who identifies as queer and is
keenly aware of the issues surrounding identity politics.
Leave it to we UUs to stir things up, in a good way, of course. Maybe such
an exercise in terminology is a natural part of the growth and development
of the poly community, in all it's glorious variations.
Yea, Anita! It's nice to see when somebody gets me. (I'm sure she's not
alone. There are others that no doubt feel the same way.)
I'm serious about not identifying myself as poly anymore. It's definitely
due to issues surrounding identity politics as polyamory emerges as a social
movement. But I hope most people are bemused by all this and realize it just
points out some things to think about...maybe even some things they haven't
considerd before.
