I think the best observation is that with Poly we're looking for 
something that will last. Maybe not forever, but for a long time, and 
be a growing thing that leaves everybody involved richer for the 
experience.

The thrill some people get from cheating, from what I've seen, isn't 
any of those. Either the illicit partner or the situation gets stale, 
and you need to find something new. Plus, if the betrayed partner 
should find out it destroys everything rather than leading to any 
kind of growth.

That kind of thrill pretty much is an addiction to NRE (once again 
from what I've seen). That to has some very long discussions on how 
it differs from long term commitment. That observation can of course 
lead into lots of talk about Adrenaline/Endorphin v.s. Ocytocin. Dull 
and long winded, but very important in some ways. Our OSO has come to 
find it funny (in a very sweet way) to see the shivers she gets from 
an Oxytocin dump after making love. A pretty intense experience in 
it's own right.
