Here's the concise reply. The writer confuses excitement with fun. Being a victim in a car wreck is exciting - albeit perhaps only to the point of impact. It is not fun. NRE, exploring your deepest desires and feelings with you partners, learning to expand your love, learning about your motivations and fulfillment; now, those are fun.
