I define differently.

Open marriage is a broad term that indicates individuals not inside the 
bounds of the marriage are allowed to be involved in sexual/emotional 
relations with one or more members of the marriage.

Polyamory is often defined as an alternate marriage style: there are more 
people inside the marriage than the current standard. By strict definition, 
polyamory breaks down to poly=more than one and amor=love

It is possible to be polyamorous, have several partners within the marriage, 
have sex with several partners within the marriage, and still not practice 
an "open marriage."

These are seperate concepts, connected only because they define alternate 
lifestyles, not because they are connected in any way.
