I agree with Laura that Dan Savage has displayed himself to be a bigot on a 
number of occasions - not the least of which was as an official speaker at 
GA several years back.  I can't remember if it was in Quebec or in Long 
Beach, but the BGLT office asked him to be a speaker.  It was a huge - 500? 
people who came to see him speak one evening at GA.  He was particularly 
offensive in regard to bisexuality, differently-abled attendees, BGLT 
persons who live in rural areas, and when confronted about all of this by 
UUA staff, confirmed his attitudes unapologetically.  He had various members 
of the audience in tears with his personal attacks.  I am shocked that the 
UUA office asked this offensive person to speak - authoritatively - at GA.
