Re: [UUPoly-L] Acceptance, tolerance and liberalism

I know many companies were like that in the 70s and 80s. I got passed
over for a government job because I wasn't oriental. In the testing for
the job, I scored WAY better than the guy they hired.
SOME day, we'll have people hired for their abilities and talents, and
NOT because they are, or aren't some particular sex or religion.

To play devil's advocate, the other side of that coin is no one will
ever get Way better unless they get a chance. There needs to be some
medium between never giving a minority a chance to get in the game (by
always hiring us well educated white guys) and getting the job done,
which also is a priority. There are no clean answers.

PS: I'm not defending Watt here, only acknowledging the conflicting values.

When you begin to touch your heart or let your heart be touched, you
begin to discover that it's bottomless, that it doesn't have any
resolution, that this heart is huge, vast, and limitless. You begin to
discover how much warmth and gentleness is there, as well as how much space.
