And this is the flipside. If it really is just being an
"incidental observer" then I'm fine with it. The people I
loathe are the ones who are there to get thrills by
offending or titillating an audience, or there to "show"
themselves in order to force some social issue with the
audience.
And so it always comes down to how folk conduct themselves,
I guess. If they're just living their life in the same area
as me, and relate to me as a person, that's fine - but if
they're using me as an audience, doing their stuff in front
of me for the sake of their thrill at being seen, or for my
reaction or in order to get me to do or not do something,
then that's not okay.
