While we're wishing, how about hoping we can someday do our jobs creatively, when thinking outside the box is encouraged; rather than do it my or the official way.

To play devil's advocate, the other side of that coin is no one will 
ever get Way better unless they get a chance. There needs to be some 
medium between never giving a minority a chance to get in the game (by 
always hiring us well educated white guys) and getting the job done, 
which also is a priority. There are no clean answers.
