Re: [UUPoly-L] New member from Lancaster Co. PA
Hey, woman! I remember you well, dynamic being that you are. You know I tried to find CPN today...I thought it existed as a Yahoo list group, but all I could find was the page for CPN Poly-Mono....is it one in the same? The invite to the toy party was forwarded to me, and I would love to come....transportation may be an issue...know anyone heading there from my way? Or could some one pick me up at Amtrak, and give me a place to bunk?

Well, welcome Tara.
We met last Sunday at the Reception you attended for the Founders of CPN, in the very space that our newly forming GWA UUPA meets. You are welcome to be a part of that group, and email list, also. You are invited to the toy party, too, and we hope to see you at whatever you are able to attend. The goal of both/all these organizations is community, learning and awareness.

I'm posting to introduce myself.
I don't want you to think I'm trying to post "singles ad"...but I thought I'd give you some stats so you can get a sense of who I am. I'm female, divorced (married more than once...surprise), 51, have birthed and mothered 5 children...2 are grown and independent young men, and the 3 others are females 17 (junior), 15 (freshman), and 10 (5th grade).
I'm a spiritually adventurous and sincere Friend (Quaker), who also cares deeply about social and ecological concerns. I'm influenced by Native American, Goddess-consciousness, Buddhist, primitive Christianity and Sufi mysticism, and have integrated disciplines from each into my spiritual journey. I have recently initiated come contacts in the Friends' community about incorporating Polyamory in our open support of loving relationship, regardless of their conventionality. I'm intersted in learning more about how UUs are doing with this...among other things.
I love living in intimate communion with nature. I lean toward a vegetarian and organic diet. I grow, craft, and recycle, contra dance, write (I'm published...still in shock over that one), walk, do yoga, starting palates, still like to play in the back yard. I don't use chemicals in my home or on my body...including fragrances unless they are pure essential oils. (Yes, yes, I'm one of "those people".) I have a 19 mo. old Golden Retriever, who I raise with positive training methods and who's wellness I also look after with naturopathic methods.
I have a professional background in the medical, educational and business fields, and am also fluent in American Sign Language. I'm now studying to be holistic lifestyle consultant...mind/body/spirit wellness from a mainly naturopathic point of view...and yes there are legitimate degrees in
that...including PhD...lol.
I love fairly freely, and I'm rather open sexually (it might be accurate to say I'm "bi"). I want to adamantly qualify that "freeness" however, by saying this comes out of years of very deep, intense, important spiritual work and exploration...I do not engage in irresponsible, casual, superficial encounters. Even when connections are fairly instantaneous, they are deep and resonant.
As much as I adore sexual intimacy, there has to be a real depth of feeling and purpose to it - for me - in order to feel it is a "whole" experience. I have an orientation toward Tantra/Taoist sexuality, not only in the Americanized neo-tantra sense, but in the deeper and fuller expanse of traditional tantra (without all the linguistic and lineage trappings)...simpler put, sacred sexuality, sacred loving or spiritual sexuality are all terms that might be applied. I've been studying it for the demonstrated health benefits, and most importantly its spiritual potential for promoting and nurturing expansive love. David Deida, Margot Anand, and other properly trained, intentioned and certified Dakas and Dikinis, have been my guides...I have yet to find practice partners...particularly locally.
When I turned 50, I was not really ready to buy into the "winding down" thing in any sense. I began working holistically on the physical parts that felt like they were starting to wind down, and the spiritual parts that were either getting discombobulated or still in need of opening. I found my spiritual and sexual "parts" really surging, and needing to integrate in some very real and conscious ways....and this led me back to polyamory.
For the past bulk of years (I'm not going to count them...lol), I have been monogamous, and for a while would have called myself "pathologically monogamous"...or better put, very gifted in being faithful to one person. I now call myself an R-M...a "recovering monogaholic" (and hey, if you ad that to a vocabulary list, pls give me credit..lol). I had some lovely,moment-in-time poly interactions in the past...as "shared" experiences, and the loving feeling of these had never quite left me. Now I am "back" feeling quite sure and liberated.
I am newly in an open LD relationship with a diad, exploring the possibility of an open, delta-triad, primary-partnership (was that enough "poly-isms" for you?....lol), and have a LD mutual admiration connection with a man with an SO and an OSO, and a love connection with a man just beginning his poly dating. There's a couple of other loving wishfuls, but location and situation don't make them look all that hopeful.
I'm the moderator of the Yahoo group "Lancaster Area Poly/Tantra Network", and organizer of the Meet Up group by the same name. I'm interested in talking to leaders of regional groups about organizing occasional larger get-togethers, including a possible picnic in mid-to-late-June, or mid-Sept., if June seems too much like a crunch. If you live within reasonable driving distance to Lancaster PA, I also welcome you to join us...see the links below. You are welcome to visit my silly little Yahoo page-in-progress (there's some nice tantra links there), and you can also learn more about me on PolyMatchMaker.com, and PolyFriendFinder.com as "tara_affinity".
