Jasmine,
At this time I would like to thank you for figuring out how to start up an
organization that functions within the UUA and transcends individual
congregations.
I feel slightly awkward at the moment, since you want money from me and it
is liable to be slow coming.
However, recently I received profound encouragement from you &/or your end
of the list when someone offered to explain/describe the procedure s/he had
gone through in order to get the UUPA up and running.
The reason that I am interested in that type of information is because I
wish to found an order for clerics who are not ministers: 'sangha', nuns &
monks...for real and at the same time, decidedly UU to the core and through
and through. So far during the denominations history we have been 90%+
dependent upon this type of religious development and praxis ...dependent to
religions other than our own.
While I admit that I would like this for myself, my main interest is to get
our whole religious organization 'on track', better organized, self-aware
etc.. about this aspect of our spiritual lives and community. The main
things are: I want to be an important part of getting it going; I want to
practice accordingly my UUism; I want the organization to flourish and to
grow and to get along fine without me when after hopefully a long second
half or so of this lifetime I leave the material world behind ...and appear
from our perspective to have died. The whole idea being that 500 and 45
years after my expiration date, an increasingly well developed, fully intact
and self-sustaining method for this type of person....or this type of
role....will be in great shape and have become a traditional part of
Unitarian Universalism.
Now here's where we get to a definite down side regarding my own earnings &
current relational situation: This would be easier to do if I had plenty of
money for me to attend the GA as well as doing a lot more.
This will not be the first time that anyone has tried to get a sector of the
religion up, functional and prepared to succeed after the founders have
died, left or lost interest.
Anyways, I will deeply appreciate any & all of your advice & assistance in
this matter.
Thanks,
Miriam Pia

Sure, feel free to send it to me offlist. I would
appreciate all the information I can put together for
this. I've been doing quite a bit of research on
this, since I know I'll have more then a few people in
the audience that are current or former psychs, so I
want to be ready for all sorts of questions.
