The UUPA definition addresses the question with "the philosophy" of loving  
more than one. The UUPA definition is intended to be inclusive of people who  
consider themselves poly while not having multiple partners. A person who  
thinks/believes/feels that it is possible to love more than one person at the  
same time approaches any relationship differently than a person who  
thinks/believes/feels that you can only have one partner.
