Re: [UUPoly-L] Meeting poly familes and thank you for the great responses
Does anyone have any knowledge or resources regarding the legal aspects of poly relationships? homeownership, cohabitation
I would like to share a little of my story. I am new to polyamory, having been in a traditional monogamous relationship for 24 years.
My life changed when I met a wonderful man who I fell deeply in love with, and he feels the same about me. He is also very much in love with his wife of many years and had never considered himself poly before now. I spent a lot of time with the two of them and loved being with them both. His wife is overjoyed at our relationship rather than threatened or jealous of it, and she and I love each other too. We have no secrets from each other, we are completely open. It is the most amazing thing I have ever experienced, and we are now living together as a family, though we are not "out" to the community (needless to say we get some "sideways" looks when we are out together!). I have never felt so secure and loved in my life as I do now, and all 3 of us are beaming with happiness and fulfillment. We are strongly committed to making it work despite the fact that we are going against societal "norms". > From: marcus_t_cicero@hotmail.com> To: uupoly-l@uupa.org> Date: Thu, 6 Sep 2007 20:00:40 +0000> Subject: [UUPoly-L] Meeting poly familes and thank you for the great responses> > > > Greetings and Blessings. Thank you all very much for the nice comments. We are glad to assist you. Trisha, we wish you a lifetime of happiness and fulfillment in your relationship with your lovers. I don't think that you have to worry about being judged in this forum. It will be difficult no doubt when you go against societal norms as you have already encountered but you have this forum, your church and hopefully others upon which to lean for support. Break a leg. Keith, thank you as well. Yes, it's very easy in Minnesota/Wisconsin/Iowa to find poly couples/singles. It's too bad that we are not actively looking at the moment. Hopefully after the holidays.> > You would think with all of the progressives in Mass, Vermont and Maine that you would have little difficulty finding other poly singles/couples. There are a plethora of resources on the web for poly personal ads. > I didn't know that middle aged men are a hot commodity in the poly community. In the world of swingers, it's just the opposite. Most couples/singles want a bi-female. That's good to hear that polys are not as sexist. I am sure that the UU and OWL program must have some influence on that front. > > Take care and have a great weekend.> > J/H> > > > > _________________________________________________________________> Discover the new Windows Vista> http://search.msn.com/results.aspx?q=windows+vista&mkt=en-US&form=QBRE> _______________________________________________> The UUPoly-L mailing list has public archives.> Please keep that in mind when deciding how much to reveal about yourself.> UUPoly-L mailing list> UUPoly-L@uupa.org> http://www.uupa.org/mailman/listinfo/uupoly-l
