Re: [UUPoly-L] question about James Reeb and Polys

Hi, Lydia,

I wasn't sure whether Math and Rae are on the list or not, but a search for Math came up empty, so I'll drop in a reply. Yes, Reeb would be generally open to hosting the group, especially if the purpose was kept reasonably low-key. I certainly wouldn't be hesitant to ask. At the very least we used to hold Pagan Pride meetings there and that wasn't a problem at all, tho poly might be a bit of a step down from that in the minds of decision makers there. Math and Rae would be good contacts to work with. Let me know off list if you need help getting a hold of them.

I'm also a member at Prairie and would be happy to be member sponsor if the group ended up meeting there. There is a rental to consider for either place, but the member price is less then the public price. But both also have a kitchen that can be used, and no expectation of people spending money otherwise. First is also a possibility, tho they are the most traditional of the three, and, perhaps, just a tad less tolerant. But I know plenty of folks there as well to talk with behind the scenes, including Richard.

A couple weeks ago MAPS (Madison Area Polyamory Society) got tossed out of our former home, a coffee shop on Willy Street, They said we were too "loud and messy" despite our best efforts to accommodate. So now we're looking for new digs. There is another coffee shop across the street that love us but, the space we meet in is way too small for a group of our size (last night we had 14 folks which is almost average). In any case, we are thinking of James Reeb Unitarian. My question is does anyone here know about how flexible they are to polys? Are we likely to have problems from them about being a poly group in a Madison area UUA church?
