Re: [UUPoly-L] Books

I do try to refrain from "inappropriate commercial plugs" in e-lists like this, or otherwise. So I agree with CWLee about that. The trick for published authors of poly-related books, including Jenny Block and Tristan Taormino and myself, is just how to get the word out there to folks who *would* like to know about these books (I know cuz people have told me so, and I'm sure it's the same for Jenny and Tristan and others). We poly folks are a thinly scattered bunch, so the publicity question is a dilemma.

My approach is not to keep shouting in every poly venue, "Hey, everyone, I've written this book, and here's how you can order it!" but, *when it's relevant to a thread* on an e-list or in the poly chatroom, I sometimes say that my book (title and website given) has something to say about it, and you might find it helpful. I've also mentioned other books when I've felt they would be useful to the question at hand.

huh? hmmm. Seemed okay to me. I mean after all she did write a book, that's been very well reviewed I might add. I say she gets to say that at least once every book conversation. ;-D I'd be tempted to. Pete does the same thing, and while we have different personal approaches to poly, he did write a book, that's also been well reviewed, and I he's done the same thing...and I thought tastefully.
