I'm curious about your reference to having recently stumbled into poly.  If you have a particular question relating to the stumble, folks on the list might have some targeted resources to suggest.  Generally, you might want to check out polymatch maker.  It is more than just a matchmaking site.  In addition to good background resources, there are also a number of interesting forums to follow.
