Once I learned that the HPV vaccine was made available to the public, I  
encouraged all my college age daughters to get the vaccine as soon as possible,  
and they did. My daughters were asking the doctor's office for the vaccine for  
months before the doctor's office even understood WHAT my daughters were 
asking  for. "I want the HPV vaccine." "All done, we gave you the test for HPV 
that will  screw up your insurance." I didn't know the name "Gardasil" at the 
time; sure  wish I had. 
 
Eventually, one of my daughters was the first patient in that practice to  
get the vaccine. Insurance covered almost all the shots -- one daughter aged out 
 before her last shot. 
 
And yes, if they had been ten years younger, I definitely would have had  
them vaccinated.
