As a UU I too often get some mysterious statement about the Open Marriage
thing in the 70s when I talk about Polyamory but it is always vague and I
would love to hear something from some old timers. Especially ministers!
Is this thing a UU urban legend? And I am well aware there are some who
think the Holocaust is a legend too.

Love withers under constraint; its very essence is liberty. It is compatible
neither with obedience, jealousy nor fear. It is there most pure, perfect,
and unlimited when
its votaries live in confidence, equality and unreserve.
