[UUPoly-L] norfolk poly/UU church

That's crazy - we must have seen each other! I was definitely a member between those years - at least by 1986 or so, if not sooner, until i left there in 1992/3.
did you have kids? my kids would go to youth programming, and i trained in OWL - the sex ed program - then it was called AYS. poly wasn't mentioned at that time - but it is now.

I have never gotten over that church! I was in the choir, and i loved the population of the church. It was everyone who wasn't Baptist! Like an oasis in the bible belt! I knew nothing about poly at the time - never heard the word. I've always been poly before there was a word. I was living that way - just never mentioned it and it wasn't with anyone in the church. (including not the minister!)

I've never replaced Adolphus Hailstork in my life. but then, who could? even the Boston church nor it's choir, was not as good for me, and i've been there off and on my whole life - the main UU headquarters.

anyhoo - thanks for answering, it's kind of exciting just hearing from someone who knew Adolphus! what a name!

best - and we won't clog the list with more church specific notes.

Rhea.

Rhea,

When were you at the Norfolk Church? David and I were members from 1984 to
1999.
