So, to bring things back to the main topic, does anyone think this election
season shows any hopeful signs for Poly Acceptance?

I strongly agree with this. In fact, I feel like the folks who voted for
him because he was black (or "1/2 black" or mixed race) are as guilty of
racism as those who voted *against* him because he was black. I,
personally, voted for him because he was a Democrat, because he is a
progressive leaning moderate, because he has positions and presented plans
that I not only agree with, but can get excited about.

I respond:

About Poly Acceptance - I really kind of doubt it. a) I really feel folks are MORE "convicted" against polys than against gays. My minister tells my about a congregation: of UUs; in California; where she suggested they become a "welcoming congregation" to Polys. It divided the congregation. b) One thing at a time here. Gays have first dibbs. Then I'm guessing it will be between the polys and the transexuals. If we want to go next, we had better get organized. We need more people in more e-mail groups like this one.

About racism - Guilty (partially) as charged. I'm not alone though. Blacks voted 95% for Obama. Sounds kind of high to me. Exciting candidate maybe. Black like me more likely. Not that that makes it okay for me too.
