Of course they can get all the advice they want.  The question is whether
they have the judgment to be able to distinguish among the advisors, and
distinguish among the advice given.  The two candidates each had an
opportunity to demonstrate their good judgment when they selected a running
mate for the vice-presidency.  McCain picked Palin to be a heartbeat away
from the Presidency; Obama picked Biden.  The difference in the quality of
the nominees would be hard to exaggerate.  

Bush could get all the advisers he wanted as well.  He chose to listen to
Chaney and Rumsfeld; he ignored Colin Powell and Paul O'Neil.
