Assuming best intent, I'm guessing that in the paragraph:

"I voted against him for the exact same reasons.  I also voted against
McCain as well.  Both of their plans and positions are
radical and destructive to our country.  I can only feel fear for the
future.  I have however taken positive steps to deal with this.  I have a
new pistol with a high capacity magazine.  I believe his policies will lead
to more criminal activity and if they try to invade my home, I will shoot to
kill.  And it will bother me as much as swatting a fly does."

... that he simply missed the words, "I believe his policies will lead to
more criminal activity" and saw the threat as meaning the subject(s) of the
paragraph. 

Somewhat of an understandable mistake.
