Re: [UUPoly-L] Getting back on topic
Hi there - I don't advocate for straying off topic here, and I would certain discourage general debate about which candidate is better beyond what their views are about various sexual minority issues. But I do believe that to some extent the election results do affect the interests of polyamorists, including UU polys. It's a social justice thing. The Bush administration has consistently acted in ways that deny civil and human rights, including the rights of alternative sexualities of various kinds. I believe that that includes us, as we must all stick together.
Though Obama has no specific agenda to help poly people - he has hugely larger issues to grapple with in the short term - he is nowhere as likely to harm our cause since he doesn't have the same obligations Bush has that are the result of campaign promises in exchange for votes. He's also plainly more open-minded in general.
Just sayin'.....

Subject: [UUPoly-L] Getting back on topic
Many people are, understandably, still wrapped up in the
recent election. It's easy to let that dominate our focus.
Maybe we can try to bring the conversation on this list back
to its intended topic: polyamory within Unitarian Universalism.
