Re: [UUPoly-L] Reverse RSVP?
No RSVP needed, and please do not send "reverse RSVP's".
What is a "reverse RSVP"?
Here is my speculation on that curious phrase, for all who
might be curious.
RSVP comes from the French phrase "RÃpondez S'il Vous
PlaÃt", meaning "reply, if you please". So is a reverse
RSVP a request NOT to reply? Just show up or not, whatever,
like, you know, awesome, that's cool man?
I suspect the writer believes that RSVP means "reply if you
will attend" and that he means, by reverse RSVP, do not
reply telling me you will not attend. Other interpretations
are possible.
RSVP, by the way, is not to be confused with RHIP, for those
still confused.
Best regards to all, Chuck Lee. :-)
