Re: [UUPoly-L] Question

The more I read this series of questions, the more I want to write...Marriage without
sex is unacceptable to me...and I don't think "unconditional love" is realistic. Each of
us puts conditions on our love every day. If my partner turns into a doper or a spouse
abuser or makes an attempt on my life or on my property or life savings...how long
should I stay around? My partner has to treat me well or else the partnership is in
trouble.

I guess I don't understand "unconditional love" with the condition of
monogamy. I can understand UL with the choice of, or default condition of,
monogamy, but not the "condition". I love unconditionally several women
(beyond my poly family) and we choose not to be sexual, for a variety of
reasons, but it never has been a demand, only a choice. I could remove them
from my life because they won't agree to have intercourse with me, but what
does that get me?????

As for predicting future behavior, that never works well.

As a poly geezer active in the real world, I meet a lot of women looking for
that elusive "life partner" for their senior years, their previous one(s)
having left, and refuse to consider the possibility of a poly family where
they are loved by more than one.

Good luck to you Johnny, maybe we will meet at Poly Living in Feb.

Dave

Thank you Peter. I don't think I could have put it any better. I'm basically
a happy person like anyone else and accept the fact that I want to
unconditionally love more than one person which comes easily for me with
many of my friends and lovers ....
