Well, there is one element which is somewhat relevant.  You claimed that both of your assertions are backed up by studies, but then you don't cite them.  What happens when someone demands to see your studies?  What if, for example, one is able to poke a hole through the claim that consuming cow's milk leads to respiratory problems (ie, that the real problem is substituting mother's breast milk, which helps boost the immune system, with formula)?

1) Choose your battles, and don't get distracted.
2) When the other side doesn't stick to the point, call them on it.
3) Be careful what you claim, and be prepared to back it up.
