because the responses frequently include the initial argument. While this
is
helpful when two people are emailing back and forth, it becomes very
confusing
when multiple people are communicating, and the problem is exacerbated when

the mails is compiled in daily or weekly summaries.

I think it would be helpful if writers would include only the most
pertinent
part of any emails to which they are responding. The original email will
be
in the summary without copying the email.

Does this make sense? >>

The part about please follow netiquette and edit *and attributing* the
quotes in your replies, does, since not doing so makes for long, convoluted
posts. But please recognize that not all of us are *on* digest. Some of us
actually follow *threads* of conversation. For us it's difficult when you
reply to a post with a digest subject line, rather than including the
relevant subject line, or changing the subject line to make it relevant.

So, yes, those who aren't on digest need to be more aware of not top
posting, and clipping their quotes down to the bare minimum.

Those of you who *are* on digest (and everyone else, for that matter) can
likewise be considerate of those who aren't and change your subject lines,
please.
