During one episode of having problems with this style of posting,  I received 
messages in which I counted 700-plus lines of quoted digest in a  single 
message, following five or ten lines of original text. "Frustrating"  hardly 
begins to describe it. Over the next few days, subsequent  messages bounced from my 
mailbox -- I never received them at all --  presumbly because they contained 
1400-plus or 2800-plus lines of quoted  text, after the same poster quoted 
their next digest. 
 
And yes, I considered that outcome seriously destructive.
