I read Harrad Experiment in the '70s.  Part of the concept was that each student was
assigned an opposite sex room mate and they were expected to negotiate whatever
relationship they might work out.  The PE classes were things like nude swimming ...I
don't remember any competitive sports in their program...No Division 1 football and
such...possibly an upgrade for them.  The book was made into a sanitized fairly tacky
movie that had little to do with the book's message.   
          One thing I noticed with Rimmer's writing on polyamory was that he required
lots of rules and regulations for participants in his programs...probably to ease them
into the radical change of behaviors.
