I'm curious, how did the discussion come out?

I'm an ex Baptist (1st 20 yrs of life as an American Baptist, 2nd 20 as a 
Southern Baptist, last 37 as a UU).  As a Baptist reading the Baptist's 
favorite book noted that having multiple wives were allowed in the Old 
Testament.  And nowhere was it said it was it was sinful.  Just seemed to 
disappear by the time of the New Testament (perhaps having more than one 
wife just got to be too expensive).
